| The rockery 1 above was created by moving existing stones around and using plants that reflected the colour scheme in the rest of the garden. A birdbath was used as a focal point with lavenders and irises to grow around it leading the eye from the lower planting at the front of the rockery which in time will trail over the front stones. Space has been left for the plants to grow into and over the stones. This is now a calm area to look out on during the year from inside the house. | |||

The rockery 2 above already
had several small feature acers which were kept along with the more
established aubrieta and some other plants. One acer was moved to
balance the rockery more and another, taller acer was added nearer the
back.
Planting was then chosen in
shades of pinks, purples and blues to be daintier and give interest at
different parts of the border whether seen from the front or as you
walked up along the side.
