This long garden had a raised border on both sides around a central lawn.

I designed a mixed border design of evergreen shrubs to give colour and structure all year round with perennial plants infront to soften the raised edges and give interest mainly in spring and summer.  When the shrubs have grown more,  they can then be kept to their shape and space.  A variety of Clematis have been planted near the fences to provide additional colour using their three flowering times.  Springtime flowering plants were chosen for under the tree canopies and at one end of the right border a selection of ferns have been planted to give a different atmosphere before the trees.
